Xingtai (CNS) – Police have rescued 3,788 abducted children and women, including 206 foreign women, and solved 4,896 cases of human-trafficking since the crackdown on human trafficking in 2009, said the Hebei Provincial Public Security Bureau at a press conference on November 2.
The abducted foreign women, mainly from Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, the DPRK and Mongolia, were cheated by traffickers with the lure of employment or marriage in China, said Liu Yucheng, an official with the bureau.
All of the rescued foreign women have been sent back to their home countries and treated properly.
A total of 429 human-trafficking gangs have been busted and 3,827 suspects have been arrested.
