Lhasa (CNS) – Tibet will build a tourism resource database, according to the Tibet Autonomous Region's Twelfth Five-year-plan Informatization Program released recently.
Information about the tourism resources, folk dances and operas, food and other Tibetan intangible cultural heritages will be digitalized and included in the database, said the official document.
As part of the Tibet tourism integrated information service project, the local government will set up a tourism e-business platform through which tickets, guesthouses and tours can be booked on the Internet.
A tourist information sharing platform is planned to be built to ensure travelers' safety in Tibet, according to the program.
