7-magnitude earthquake jolts East China Sea

Beijing (CNS) -- An earthquake, measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale occurred in the East China Sea at 10:59 a.m. Beijing Time (GMT 0259) on November 8, said the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).

The epicenter is located at 27.2 degrees north latitude and 125.9 degrees east longitude. The depth of the seismic focus is 220 km.

The CENC also reported another earthquake measuring 6 magnitude in Nicaragua at 06:35 a.m. Beijing Time. The depth of its seismic focus is 190 km.
