Shanghai (CNS) -- Container vessel "Jade," owned by Antigua and Barbuda, was stranded by submerged rocks 24 nautical miles from the Yangtze estuary at 6:28 p.m. on Wednesday. Thanks to the prompt action taken by the Donghai Bureau of the Ministry of Transport, all 12 members of the crew from five countries – Germany, Ukraine, Romania, Myanmar and the Philippines, have been saved from danger.
The rescue went on from 8:17 p.m. and finally conquered the challenges posed by high waves and strong winds to approach and transfer the crew to safety at 1:05 a.m. on Thursday.
