Beijing (CNS) – Seven Chinese swimmers won the best athlete 2011 title awarded by Fédération Internationale de Natation (FINA), their November 7 press release revealed. Qiu Bo was awarded for men's diving and Wu Minxia for women's diving.

China's "dream team" in diving took 10 gold medals in the 14th FINA World Championships in Shanghai. Their achievement excluded non-Chinese players from the top spots.

Qiu Bo, 18, was the champion of the 10 meter men's single and 10 meter men's double diving competitions in the FINA World Championships earlier this year. The last time a Chinese player won the men's single was in 2005. Qiu's perfect performance was awarded two full marks.

Twenty-five year old Wu Minxia is the oldest member of China's team, but won two world titles, for the women's 3-meter springboard single and double in the 14th FINA World Championships. This was the sixth consecutive win of "dream team" for women's 3-meter springboard.
