Wuhan (CNS) – Wuhan, the capital of Central China's Hubei province, will invest 70 billion yuan (USD 1.5 billion) to build a business district along the Yangtze, including a 707 meter high-rise slated to be the new record-setter for building height in China.
Wuhan has been building up to a renewal of its skyscraper height record; a 606 meter building broke ground in Wuchang, part of Wuhan city in July this year; a month later, another skyscraper got underway which will reach 666 meters.
The business district program aims to lure domestic and foreign enterprises to headquarter in Wuhan. To this end, office buildings and high-end hotels will be built around the news-grabbing structures.
