Tianjin (CNS) –From January to October this year, 213 Hong Kong enterprises flooded into Tianjin. The figure was announced at the anniversary ball of the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce in China, Tianjin branch, on December 10.
Hong Kong enterprises have sought footing in the real estate, finance, garment trade and service industry, said Yang Liangxian, president of the Tianjin branch.
"Tianjin is gradually becoming an attractive area for Hong Kong enterprises thanks to its booming economy and business-friendly policies", Yang observed with regard to the increasing number of high-tech enterprises and high-end manufacturers that are choosing to move here from the island.
Mai Weiming, general manager of Road King Infrastructure Limited in Tianjin, was quoted as saying that it was the city's huge market that inspired the company to invest over 3 billion yuan in just 4 years. To date, more than 7,000 projects with roots in Hong Kong are underway in Tianjin.
