Beijing (CNS) -- The Chinese transport authority speculates passenger load during the 2012 Spring Festival will top 3.158 billion from January 8 to February 16, up 9.1% year on year. 235 billion will be carried by the railways, 6.1% more than last year.
Exactly 109 pairs of provisional trains will run between Beijing and other parts of the country, 13 of which will be high-speed models connecting Beijing and Shanghai, said the municipal railway administration. The authority claims it has allocated more resources to ensuring the safety of the high-speed trains.
Nationwide railway offices are in the final phase of preparing and reviewing equipment, and scheduling human resources for the upcoming passenger tsunami.
