Shanghai (CNS) – Shanghai Pudong Zhangjiang Innopark, dubbed Shanghai "Silicon Valley",launched a project on December 18 to provide low cost offices for start-ups.
The Innopark will let suites of 50 to 80 square meters for an average of 1,000 yuan per month. Living quarters will be arranged for those who lease these offices, also at very reasonable rates, said Ding Lei, deputy director of the Zhangjiang Innopark Committee, adding that even so, for some tenants the bargain rates are still unaffordable.
80 percent enterprises in Innopark are small companies, altogether providing jobs for about 200,000 newcomers. Accommodations covering 300,000 square meters will be put into full use by the end of this year, and most units have been already completed.
