Jincheng (CNS) – Taiwanese tycoon Guo Taiming donated 30 million yuan on Sunday to build a school in his hometown of Jicheng in North China's Shanxi province, "in which no paper is needed for teaching", he announced.

The high school, named Ai Wu, will provide classrooms for at least 2,500 students, but what is most impressive is that its 22,000 square meter learning environment will be digitalized, explained Guo, and built to the same standard as used in California's Silicon Valley schools.

Guo is the founder of Foxconn Technology Group, and a donor with a charitable track record that has included at least 30 million yuan given to boost every aspect of his hometown's development since 2001. A project of 1 billion USD to fund an industrial park in Shanxi province was masterminded by Guo in October 2003, which was the biggest investment ever made by a Taiwanese enterprise in Shanxi.
