Beijing (CNS) -- The Bank of China (BOC) announced on Thursday that the Taiwanese banking regulatory authority has approved its application to open a branch in Taipei.
Among the first batch of mainland commercial banks allowed to expand its business to the island, BOC pledged its dedication to high-standards for efficient financial services in cross-strait economic and trade exchanges.
In September 2009, BOC executives visited Taipei to select a location for the prospective branch. In January, a BOC spokesperson reported that full preparations were underway at various levels for the new business, including the application report, financial product line up, technological backup, staffing and services.
