Beijing (CNS) -- Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), developers of light civil helicopter AC311, signed with four domestic companies to fill orders for 62 of the craft at a ceremony on Thursday where the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) issued the AC311 license to AVIC.
Previous orders for 10 mean the AVIC now has 72 AC311 to deliver. July will see the first handed off to a private company purchaser - Beijing Hangxiang Advertising.
The independent helicopter holds a maximum of six and 900 kilograms, and fly at a top speed of 242 km per hour for a maximum range of 620 km and four hours consistently.
The research and development process of the AC311 adopted 3D digital design and manufacturing technologies. It passed the test flight smoothly in December 2011.
The “little elf in air” can be widely used in flights for training, corporate missions, police action, communications, marine supervision, disaster control, medical rescue, electricity line patrol and forest fireproofing purposes.
