Beijing (CNS) -- A tourism agency will open a charter flight between Beijing and the island of Saipan on November 15, according to the China office of the Marianas Visitors Authority on Tuesday.
China Eastern Airlines will provide the service every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday via wide-body Airbus A333, offering a capacity of 885 seats per week.
The direct flight will take about five hours, and will considerably save time for tourists, said Zhu Jun, chief representative of the authority in China.
Winter in northern China is cold, and such flights will take people to a warm resort, added Zhu.
Saipan is a globally recognized diving resort, featuring golf, quaint European style churches, a full range of international cuisine, and unique folk culture.
