(ECNS) -- US Vice President Joe Biden on Thursday took his granddaughter to a famous Chinese teahouse during a sightseeing tour around Beijing's Guozijian, the Beijing Youth Daily reported.
"We received a phone call telling us the US vice president would visit just one hour before his arrival," said a waitress surnamed Yan at the Liu Xian Guan Tea House.
"They ordered a large table for 10 people," she said, adding that "before Biden got here, people came to the teahouse and carried out a security check."
A picture presented by Yan shows that Biden's granddaughter was among the vice president's entourage.
"They enjoyed Da Hong Pao, a kind of prestigious oolong tea, and white tea, a lightly oxidized tea," said Yan.
The manager of the teashop personally performed the tea ceremony.
They stayed for about an hour and also visited a bookstore at the scenic spot.
Biden ended his two-day diplomatic visit in Beijing on Thursday.
