(ECNS) -- Demand for errand services has soared along with the high temperatures that have hit many parts of China.

Temperatures exceeded 40 degrees Celsius in many Chinese cities on Thursday, according to the Central Meteorological Observatory.

The extreme temperatures have made simple errands like picking up children and grocery shopping more challenging.

The number of transactions at one online store providing errand services had reached 1,022 in the last 30 days.

A sales person said that after receiving orders, customer service staff discuss the details of consumers’ needs and arrange employees to fulfill the tasks.

The sales person also said that the store has over 2,000 part-time employees in various cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.
