(ECNS) -- Lindsay, a 25-year-old woman from the U.S., has launched a website to help Chinese people choose appropriate English names.
On the "Best English Names" website, users pay 15 yuan (about $2.5) to access an online test, designed by Lindsay's team, Southern Metropolis Daily reports.
The test consists of 10 questions about the user's character and requirements for a name, and on completion the user receives five English name recommendations.
Nearly 400 people are paying for the test each day.
The website's daily page views have reached more than 2,000, with visitors being predominantly young women from Hangzhou, Kunming, Shanghai, Wenzhou, Chengdu and other cities in China, who are preparing applications to study abroad.
Lindsay previously worked in Shanghai and her idea to launch the website was inspired by the strange names chosen by some of the Chinese people she met. Often, the unusual names left a bad impression on foreign bosses and colleagues.
Lindsay likes experiencing different cultures and she hopes her website would develop into a platform for cultural exchange.
