(ECNS) -- Apple will start selling its first wearable Apple Watch costing from 2,126 yuan ($349) to 103,563 yuan ($17,000) on April 24, though fans may find it difficult to get their hands on the fashionable gadget due to supply issues.
Preorders will begin on April 10, with consumers able to try on the device in-store. However, buyers will not be able to purchase an Apple Watch directly in a store like they could with an iPhone or iPad. Instead, all sales will be made through a reservations system, Apple confirmed yesterday.
However, consumers will be able to order the device online and have it shipped to their homes. They could also make a reservation to check one out in-store.
Apple has no plans so far to allow fans to drop into a store and walk out with an Apple Watch, even after the device officially hits the market. Presumably, walk-in sales will eventually be made possible once supply is properly calibrated to match demand.
Although the Apple Watch may sell well, it is not the right time to buy a smart watch as the product is still in the early stages of development, Beijing Times reported, quoting an unidentified foreign industry agency.
