(ECNS) - Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga has expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for helping a Japanese tourist leave conflict-torn Yemen.
According to China's Foreign Ministry, Chinese navy ship Weishanhu helped nine Chinese nationals and one Japanese evacuate from Yemen's Socotra island, bringing them to Oman's Salalah port.
Yoshihide said at a regular press conference that the Japanese tourist's application for withdrawing together with the Chinese nationals was accepted by the Chinese navy.
