(ECNS) - Construction of the China Pavilions at the Milan Expo will be completed at the end of April and be ready to open on May 1, said Wang Jinzhen, commissioner general for the China Pavilions at the expo.

China will have three pavilions, covering an area of 4,590 square meters. The Vanke Pavilion (900 square meters) is already completed, while the China Pavilion and China Corporate United Pavilion will be finished by the end of April.

China Pavilion's shape resembles a billowing wheat field, and will have five exhibition sections, with the themes of Preface, Heaven, Earth, Human and Harmony.

The Earth Hall will have over 20,000 LED optical fibers, to portray a "Land of Hope."

The Human exhibition hall, which will be China Pavilion's major exhibition space, will have creative exhibits and interactive installations.

China Pavilion will showcase agriculture, food supply and the long history of Chinese catering culture, as well as sustainable development concepts for the future, according to the pavilion's website.

Wang also said the Milan Expo will include a series of corporate-themed activities.
