(ECNS) - A catwalk show celebrating the Qipao, a traditional Chinese dress also known as a Cheongsam, will be held in central China and aims to set a new world record.
The show will include 300 stages, in addition to the main stage, and 100,000 Chinese women wearing Qipao from all over the world, possibly securing a Guinness World Record.
The show's main event will be on May 16 in Changsha, capital city of Central China's Hunan province.
The show is hosted by the China Cheongsam Association (CCA) in order to raise awareness and promote appreciation for Asian female beauty.
The CCA has also suggested making May 16 a "China Qipao Culture Day."
"May 16 will be a glorious day for the CCA," says the organizer. "'China Qipao Culture Day' will attract global attention, and demonstrate the traditional elegance of Chinese women."
