(ECNS) -- A prostitution ring busted by police is said to have been run by a "militarized" organization, according to xinhuanet.com.
The ring included various "departments" in charge of organization, finance, supervision and resources, according to police officials from Kunming, Yunnan province.
The 28-year-old head of the ring, surnamed Quan, once worked as a KTV attendant but started "recruiting" prostitutes in 2010.
Girls involved with the ring lived in a rented flat also run in a military fashion. The women used the same type of toothbrushes, towels and drinking cups, all neatly ordered. A standardized make-up procedure was also a requirement when preparing for "business outings".
To leave the flat, the women needed both permission and amandatory male escort. These men were responsible for cleaning and pick-ups while also playing a facilitating role.
The ring also paid attention to education. It bought computers and books to help improve employee skills in management, catering, entertainment and general knowledge. With proper training, the ring hoped the women could spot wealthy men by their expensive luxury accesories.
The organization utilized a performance-based assessment system that ranked its members on different levels.
Police have already arrested all 20 suspects while criminal restraint measures have been put in place.
The investigation remains underway.
