(ECNS) -- A civil aviation school has added security courses to its curriculum beginning from the next school year, a move to improve the capability of air crew members in the fight against terrorism.
Sichuan Southwest Vocational College of Civil Aviation, located in Sichuan province's capital city of Chengdu, is offering a new "Civil Aviation Air Security" major for the semester starting in September, with plans to admit 330 students during the first intake.
With the anti-terrrorism situation becoming more serious in recent years, the air security major could meet the demand of employers, said Zhang Lin, the director of the admissions office of the university.
Admission requirements for females include being "beautiful", having a "sense of security", and being at least 163cm tall.
The students will learn a broad range of skills, such as combat skills and Wing Chun Kung Fu, and will get rigorous military trainnings and physical trainings.
The criterion for male applicants includes a height of 174cm and a pleasing appearance that doesn't look cruel or "sissy."
Zhang said the school looks for high school graduates who are upbeat, friendly, and dependable.
