(ECNS) -- Running an Internet store is the most popular choice of part-time job, with over half of part-timers earning less than 5000 yuan (about $806) per month, according to a survey.
The study, conducted by leading human resource solutions provider 51job.com, shows 65.6 percent of interviewees have friends with part-time job obligations. More than 44 percent have part-time work experience.
It also found that 52 percent of interviewees are willing to spend two to four hours a day on part-time work, while 8.9 percent are open to part-time jobs that take more than five hours a day.
Low income is expected from part-time work, with 41.7 percent finding it acceptable to gain a monthly income of between 2000 and 5000 yuan from such work. Some 37 percent are willing to take part-time jobs offering less than 2000 yuan per month.
To run an Internet store is the most popular choice of part-time job, followed in order by tutoring, writing, carpooling, emcee-ing, waitering, sales and accountanting.
Part-time jobs attract more men than women. Those who have high educational qualifications are more likely to take part-time jobs since they are familiar with online marketing and payment as well as being good at calculating compensation from various Internet platforms.
