(ECNS) -- Police are investigating after a video of two people having sex inside the fitting room of a UNIQLO store in Beijing went viral on China's social media.
The one-minute video clip contains a blurred conversation between a man and a woman. It was uploaded to Weibo late on Tuesday. Based on the audio and video content, it can be inferred that the video was captured in the fitting room of a UNIQLO store in Beijing's Sanlitun area.
After receiving reports from netizens, local police in Chaoyang district have started to investigate the incident.
The Japanese fashion retailer UNIQLO released an official statement on Wednesday denying the video was a marketing stunt.
The clothing company is also urging customers to use fitting rooms for their designed purpose.
