(ECNS) -- The founder of a charity website that claimed to support education opportunities for unprivileged children has been busted on account of underage sex and embezzlement scandals.
The suspect, surnamed Wang, is now in police custody after he reportedly embezzled charity funds and extorted adolescent girls for sex in return for money.
Born March 1980 in Longlin county, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region of southwest China, Wang established a website in his own name, claiming it to be a philanthropic effort benefitting poverty-hit children in terms of education.
However, he is being blasted by local media for committing multiple crimes including embezzlement and statutory rape. Wang was apprehended by police on Thursday night.
It was reported that he fabricated information to trick money out of sympathetic donors. Wang has also bragged that some underage girls are so eager for funds that they offer him sex. To prove his point, he even showed video records of sexual harassment, which took place in a shabby hotel room.
