(ECNS) - It has been speculated that Apple will introduce a "rose gold" to its lineup of color choices for the iPhone 6S series, which could be released first on the Chinese mainland.
A popular choice for luxury watchers, "rose gold" is considered particularly eye-catching. "It's a little like the color of red metal, just more flashy and transparent, and a bit pinkish too," according to an insider from Foxconn, Apple's contracted manufacturer.
"Rose gold" has been applied to Samsung smart phones as well as Apple Watches. Considering the huge success that "Tuhao Gold" iPhones achieved in China, it is not far-fetched to predict a "rose gold" version. Tuhao refers to mainland people who are rich but uncultured.
Besides a new color, the much-hyped iPhone 6S series is expected to be equipped with Apple Watch's Force Touch screen, as well as its animated wallpapers. It remains to be seen whether Apple will wave goodbye to 2GB memory or 16GB storage versions of the iPhone.
All will be revealed when Apple holds an event on September 9. The new series of iPhones could be available as early as September 18. It is possible that the new iPhones could be released first on the Chinese mainland, Chinese media reported.
