(ECNS) – One of the most famous Chinese paintings, known as Qingming Shanghe Tu, or "Along the River during the Qingming Festival", will be exhibited at the Palace Museum in Beijing from September 8 to November 8, Beijing News reported.

It will mark the first time in nearly a decade that the 5.82-meter-long scroll painting has appeared in public. The artwork, created by Zhang Zeduan during the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127), depicts the buildings and daily life in the then capital Bian Jing.

The painting was displayed to the public when the museum celebrated its 80th anniversary ten years ago. It was later exhibited in Hong Kong and Japan, but never fully opened, according to a worker at the museum.

A total of 283 of the museum's exhibits will be put on display during the same period, the report said. After this show, relics from the Song and Yuan dynasties will not be displayed for another ten years.

Wi-Fi will be available inside the exhibition, and visitors can scan a QR code beside nearly one-third of the exhibits to learn about their stories.
