(ECNS) -- As more and more affluent Chinese parents take their kids on study tours during summer vacation, a report has found that over 70 percent of overseas tours cost 20,000 yuan ($3,141) per person.
Accordingly, 73 percent of parents choose going abroad on study tours, while only 27 percent choose to stay at home, the report issued by ctrip.com stated, adding that the top overseas destinations include Australia, the United States and Britain.
It said the average cost per person for 45 percent of overseas tours exceeds 30,000 yuan ($4,893) while 74 percent exceeds 20,000 yuan.
Nearly 60 percent of touring students are from junior high schools, while Shanghai is the main source of such travellers, followed by Beijing and Guangdong, it was added.
