(ECNS) -- Apple began suffering website woes Saturday just two hours before its iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus were to become available for pre-order online.
Apple's online stores suffered outages in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, the United States and other places. Users who tried to access the store reported seeing an error message.
The website recovered 104 minutes later, leaving some time for multinational fans to snap up their favorite items.
However, buyers then encountered another problem, as their bank accounts were debited for failed orders several times.
Apple didn't disclose the cause of the outages.
Experts said an internal error resulted in the repeated deductions, and that payers would get their money back later.
An insider attributed the error to Apple's CDN service provider Akamai.
