(ECNS) -- As increasing numbers of Chinese choose to undergo plastic surgery in South Korea, a country well-known for its cosmetic technology, cases of failure and dispture are on the rise.
According to statistics from South Korean Health Ministry, 56,000 Chinese people had plastic surgery in the country last year, a considerable rise on the 16,000 who did it the year before. Besides, the annual failure rate has risen 10 to 15 percent.
An investigation has also shown that some people who know almost nothing about medicine, engage in plastic surgery for consumers, injecting botox, hyaluronic acid and proteins randomly.
Data released in 2012 revealed that China experienced about 20,000 complaints of disfigurement every year in the previous decade.
Most plastic surgeries fall under medical treatment, and consumers should think carefully, expert warned.
