Two pearls in a box.
(ECNS) -- A cook in Hunan province found two pearls inside a conch, more valuable than gold, twenty years ago, a local news website reported.
Yang Husheng, who worked at a seafood shop at the time, discovered two solid balls when opening a large conch in 1995. He didn't give much thought to it and left them in a drawer.
Till seven years later, Yang took them to a jewellery center for appraisal and got them certified.
Reporters noticed that the pearls didn't lose their shine or brightness despite time.
Unluckily, Yang failed to sell them to real collectors, as this type of treasure is not well-known. So far, there are only six conch pearls in total in China, with one in Taiwan and the other three in Fujian, according to Yang.
