(ECNS) -- China is making efforts to arrange family doctors for every household in the country by 2020 and establish electronic personal health documents for each Chinese resident.
The plan was outlined in a guideline by the National Health and Family Planning Commission concerning community-level medical services.
It urges local authorities to improve medical facilities, the quality of medical services and management ability.
Besides, the guide encourages local governments to explore ways in cooperating with the private sector to offer better medical services.
The commission also asked for the step up of training initiatives for medical staff at community-level hospitals and clinics. Each medical practitioner should receive no less than three months of training every five years.
