(ECNS) -- Only one fourth of the labor force are proficient in buying train tickets online in China, a blue book released on Sunday reports.
Released by Sun Yat-Sen University, the info states that the average age of the country's labor force is 37.57 and that they received 9.28-years of schooling on average.
Nearly 47 percent only got junior high school diplomas, while 24 percent received education at vocational high schools, technical schools or junior colleges. Those who finished undergraduate education only accounted for a mere 5.17 percent, it added.
Although more than half have no difficulty in reading magazines and newspapers, sending text messages on mobile phones, writing letters and drawing money from ATMs, only one fourth are proficient in using banking services and buying train tickets online.
Targeting the labor force aged between 15 and 64 in sample families, Sun Yat-Sen University completed 401 village surveys that included 14,226 family and 23,594 individual questionnaires.
