(ECNS) -- Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba is expected to present the 2015 FIFA Club World Cup which kicks off on December 10.
Chinese media reported that the firm is scheduled to announce the decision at a press conference in Tokyo.
Alibaba employees said they were notified of the press conference, but would wait to see what it's about.
Toyota has been presenting the game since 1981, but in April confirmed that their contract had ended in 2014.
On FIFA's website the name of the presenter is still unfilled.
Last year, Alibaba signed a cooperation agreement with Chinese soccer club Guangzhou Evergrande, and bought 50 percent of its stake with 1.2 billion yuan ($188 million).
Evergrande has taken home the trophy twice in three years, greatly raising shareholders' interest in the sport.
Although Alibaba is likely to present the game, China holding the FIFA World Cup won't happen soon. The 2016 one is set to be held in Japan.
