(ECNS) – China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Thursday issued a guideline that prohibits chemical and industrial parks from being built inside environmentally sensitive areas.
Such parks are prohibited in ecological protection red lines, natural protection zones, water protection zones, farmland protection zones and other environmentally sensitive areas.
The construction of industrial parks must be in accord with land-use planning, such as building buffer areas, keeping away from densely populated areas, and building protection facilities.
The guideline also stipulates that industrial parks need to be reevaluated every five years.
