A notice on the website of Chinese embassy in U.S.
(ECNS) -- The Chinese embassy in the United States asked its nationals there to increase awareness of risk prevention for the upcoming festival season.
In a notice released on its website Thursday, the embassy urged Chinese in the U.S. to raise their vigilance amid the current anti-terrorism situation.
It asked Chinese nationals to pay close attention to security information and not go to areas with poor public security or safety hazards.
It also urged nationals to guard against suspicious people in crowded places.
The U.S. Embassy in Beijing said on Thursday it received information of possible threats against Westerners visiting Sanlitun, a popular shopping district in China's capital city, on or around Christmas Day.
