(ECNS) -- Five young men born after 1990 in Yucheng County, Central China's Henan Province, will have to face severe administrative punishment for evading military service, th Beijing Times reported on Monday.
The men will not be able to apply for civil servants jobs, travel abroad, or pursue higher education for two years.
The military recruiment office of Yucheng County announced in a statement on December 24 that the five rule-breakers will be expelled from military service.
They will also have to pay fines of 10,000 yuan ($1,540) each.
Serving in the military is a glorious cause, which should be treated seriously, the statement said.
