(ECNS) -- Chinese who were born in 1987 spent the most on overseas online shopping in 2015, according to a recent report by Huihui Shopping Assistant, a third-party shopping app.
In terms of per customer spending, those born in 1987 took the first place, at 524 yuan ($79) each on average.
In contrast to women-dominated domestic online shopping, men accounted for more than 70 percent of Chinese buyers abroad last year, the report said.
Post-80s showed the strongest purchasing power in 2015, with order placements taking up 59 percent of the total, followed by the post-90s and the post-70s generations, who accounted for 23 percent and 14.4 percent, respectively.
The report also found that Aquariuses placed the most overseas online orders in 2015, accounting for 12 percent of the total, closely followed by Sagittariuses and Scorpios, while Arieses were the most frugal, with their orders accounting for a mere 7.1 percent. Orders placed by Tauruses and Geminis were no more than 8 percent.
Beijing, Guangdong province and Shanghai took the top three places in terms of customer numbers in overseas online shopping, accounting for 15.5 , 13.5 and 9.9 percent, respectively, followed by Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces.
