(ECNS) -- Less than one third of Chinese listed companies have published information related to their environmental impacts in 2014, a source from the Ministry of Environmental Protection said.
The China Forum of Environmental Journalists, a nongovernmental organization dedicated to raising public awareness of environmental protection, has released its annual research about companies listed on the Shenzhen and Shanghai stock markets in terms of environmental responsibility.
The research finds that only 708 of 2,613 listed companies, about 27.10 percent, have published reports on environmental/social responsibility and sustainability.
The research says 43 more companies shared information about environmental impacts than in 2013, but there's still a long way to go as the nation is faced with huge challenges from environmental pollution.
