(ECNS) -- BrainCo, a startup formed by Chinese students from Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, has developed the world's first medical-grade wearable brain efficiency enhancer Focus 1, Beijing Daily has reported.
At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January, BrainCo CEO Bicheng Han wore the "mind control" headband Focus 1 to use neuro feedback to manipulate the colors of lamps.
Focus 1 uses two sensors to monitor EEG signals from the brain and translate them into electronic signals which can be sent through WiFi and onward to any device with a WiFi connection.
Han said people can use brainwaves as a command to control a lot of devices and interact with the Internet of Things. The key to using the device is to concentrate so the brain can release strong EEG signals.
Han added that the device provides an innovative way to enhance people's focus and concentration and can be applied in many fields.
It is expected to be sold later this year for less than $150.
