(ECNS) -- A seven-year-old boy in Shanghai is using his own lucky money to take a dozen classmates to visit the newly-constructed Shanghai Disneyland.
The boy's father, surnamed Zheng, said he didn't realize his son was making such an offer until a ticket verification message was sent to his mobile phone.
The boy bought 20 tickets for his classmates and his parents.
Zheng said he and his wife are usually very busy with work and had little time to travel with their son. The boy has attended boarding school since he was in kindergarten, returning home once a week.
The father said his Disney-mad son studies ticket-booking tips on search engines.
The boy purchased tickets for his parents and a dozen classmates with gift money received during the Chinese Lunar New Year.
The regular price of admission is 370 yuan (around $57). Peak pricing for holidays and weekends is 499 yuan, which will apply from the opening until June 30. Children under 1.4 meters tall, seniors over 65, and guests with disabilities are entitled to a 25 percent discount.
The father said he feels guilty for not spending more time with his son, but is planning to ask other parents to accompany their children when visiting the theme park.
