(ECNS) – A survey has found that Chinese who are older and have lower incomes are more enthusiastic about making a trip to the new Shanghai Disney Resort, which is set to officially open to the public on June 16.
The Shanghai Consumers' Rights and Interests Protection Commission held an event Monday afternoon to release their strategy on Disney and the Bund in Shanghai.
Yang Xiong, a member of the commission, said the survey showed that more than 60 percent of those in the age group 45 years and older were keen to visit the Shanghai Disney Resort.
In addition, when comparing responses from those in income groups of less than 50,000 yuan ($7,670.42), 50,000-100,000 yuan, and 100,000 yuan plus, the survey revealed those who made less money showed more enthusiasm about the Disney theme park, reflecting its popularity among the general public, Yang said.
For most of the potential visitors from other parts of the country, the Disney theme park would not be the only destination on their Shanghai itinerary, as other scenic spots, entertainment and shopping would also be included, Yang said.
