(ECNS) -- A thief was found to have made an ambitious plan to become a millionaire in one year in southwest China's Chongqing Metropolis, and then use part of his booty in altruistic pursuits.
Aided by a video surveillance system at a home where a gold necklace, a diamond and cash were stolen on May 10, two suspects were later caught. One surnamed Zhang was living in a hotel and the other surnamed Luo in a rented room.
In Luo's room, police found a year-long plan for 2015 that outlined how he hoped to make 2,800 ($428) yuan a day, some 840,000 yuan a month, and planned to rein in his daily transport spending at 30 to 50 yuan.
The suspect's plan also described how he wanted to buy a house for his younger brother and donate money to build a "hope project" school.
Luo, a native of Anyue County in Sichuan Province, was before imprisoned for seven years for stealing and released two years ago. After taking some motivational training programs, Luo said he wrote the plan for the year as he dreamed to become rich, but ended up returning to stealing.
