(ECNS) -- DeepMind co-founder Demis Hassabis said that nothing had been decided about the speculated match between the Go-playing robot AlphaGo and China's world number one Go player Ke Jie.
Hassabis said in a statement on Twitter that "contrary to internet rumors, we've not yet decided what to do with AlphaGo. Once we have, there will be an official announcement here."
Earlier, a spokesman for the Chinese Go Association revealed that representatives had been in contact with the team behind AlphaGo and would set up a match before the end of the year.
The 18-year-old Go grandmaster Ke expressed confidence in beating AlphaGo, while watching the robot's victory over Lee Sedol of South Korea in March. Many had challenged him to play Go against the machine.
