(ECNS) -- With the official opening of the Shanghai Disney Resort drawing near, the Shanghai Consumer Council set up an office on Sunday to address consumer complaints about the city's theme parks, in a bid to tackle potential problems and promote the healthy growth of the industry.
The Disney Resort and six other theme parks, including Shanghai Happy Valley and the Shanghai Wild Animal Park, are the first batch of parks to be supervised by the new office.
The office has invited experts in public security, food and drug administration, health, special equipment and law to be advisors.
It will set up two outlets in the Disney Resort to accept consumer complaints.
In May, the council released a consumer demand and trending survey report, which showed that nearly 40 percent of Shanghai citizens want to visit the Disney Resort. Among the respondents from other parts of the country, 63 percent showed interest in the resort and 70 percent said they would also visit other scenic spots in Shanghai.
