(ECNS) -- China Railway Corporation said high-speed railway projects in overseas markets have made great strides and its "Go Global" strategy is progressing smoothly.
The company was responding to previous media reports suggesting obstacles were affecting overseas high-speed railway expansion efforts, China National Radio reported.
China Railway International Co. Ltd. Chairman Yang Zhongmin said the country's railway projects are spread across Asia, Europe, North America and Africa, and projects including the China-Laos railway, Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway, Hungary-Serbia railway, Moscow-Kazan high-speed railway and China-Thai railway are making significant progress.
He said the China-Thailand high-speed railway, directly cheered by top leaders from both countries, would look to start construction this year after the two sides signed agreements on June 16 in Bangkok.
China Railway Corporation said it's also working with domestic companies to closely follow railway projects, including construction of the Singapore-Malaysia high-speed railway, China-Mongolia railway and other projects in the United States, the UK and Morocco.
Positive progress has been achieved, the company said without giving details.
