(ECNS) -- All tigers at a safari park in Beijing have been caged after two of them killed a woman and injured another who stepped out of their car against warning, according to a news spokesperson of the Landscape and Forestry Bureau in Yanqing District.
Beijing Badaling Safari World, which lies at the foot of the Great Wall, was ordered to close for "rectification" after the accident. It is now working with a team to investigate the tragedy.
One manager said all tigers, including the attackers, are now caged inside the park.
In the attack on Saturday, a Siberian tiger grabbed a woman who stepped out of her car and dragged her off. Her mother, who also left the car to help, was mauled to death by another. The daughter is now out of danger after treatment.
A source close to the injured woman's husband said she left the car thinking they had exited the park.
Wang Shuqin, another spokesperson for the Bureau of Landscape and Forestry, said tourists sign safety contracts before going into the park and were warned to keep their cars locked during their visit.
Several lawyers said, according to China's legal system, that the park is still partially responsible for the accident although it's mainly the fault of the visitors.
