(ECNS) -- Beijing police have launched a mobile app that allows users to report crimes and get police information directly on their Android smartphones, Beijing News reported.
The app, to be available on Oct. 1, also enables users to check information regarding nearby police stations and FAQs.
Police will engage in real-time interactions with app users and help process requirements effectively.
Using their smartphones, people are able to file certain police reports and submit full information, including uploading up to nine pictures and three short videos.
Beijing police also remind the public to call 110 first in case of emergencies while the app is used only as a supplement and is valid only for cases happening in regions under the jurisdiction of city officials.
The app for iOS smartphones is still in the process of development.
