(ECNS) -- Samsung China said it can't confirm or deny the reported suspension of Galaxy Note 7 smartphone production.
South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported that Samsung Electronics had temporarily halted production of its high-end smartphones amid continued news of the phone catching fire.
But a manager from Samsung China said on Monday that there was no official information at present, only a media report.
Yonhap cited an unnamed source at a Samsung partner firm saying the smartphone giant's decision to temporarily halt Note 7 production was made in cooperation with authorities in China and the United States.
So far, there have been about 100 reported incidents of battery explosions since the debut of the Gala
