(ECNS) -- Samsung China has declared to recall its Galaxy Note 7 smartphones in the Chinese mainland from Oct. 11 amid continued news of the phone catching fire.
This will involve 190,984 Note 7 smartphones, including 1,858 already recalled.
Samsung said it offers two options for customers affected -- to replace Note 7s with a brand new smartphone of other edition, a refund of price difference and a 300-yuan ($45) coupon. The other option is to return the smartphone for a full refund.
Mainland consumers reported a total of 20 cases where the faulty smartphone either got overheated or burned.
Many Chinese consumers have blamed Samsung for adopting a double standard and appeared reluctant to address consumer concerns. In a previous statement, Samsung said it offered its sincerest apology for failing to fully consider the feelings of Chinese consumers in its global recall of 2.5 million handsets.
